Shelley turned her head, looking between them both. “You know I thought it was weird that neither one of you looks a thing like your father.” Wolf shrugged. He was happy about that. “Guess we took after Ma’s side.” “Nope. I spent the afternoon looking through pictures of Cassidy’s family while we played with beets. They’re all small. She said Robert’s people were, too.” Leo sighed. “We’re not aliens, Shell.” Oh, god, had his mother gotten to her? “No alien DNA here.” She shrugged, a teasing smile on her lips. “I don’t know. You seem smarter and faster and more agile than the normal human. And hey, I wouldn’t mind if my kids got an edge because their dads had some freaky genetics.” She laughed and threw her arms around Leo, kissing him soundly. She turned and gave Wolf the same treatment. He could actually see several play scenarios where being half-alien might be fun. “Hey, I have about thirty minutes before I have to drink beet juice. Why don’t we have one last crazy fling before we’re boring old married people?” Shelley asked, a glint in her eye. Wolf knew just the place. “There’s a big closet where Zane keeps the dry goods.” He started to lead them back, finding the door and hauling them all in. He shut the door and turned on the small light. Thank god Lucy, Zane’s waitress, was as obsessively, compulsively clean as his brother. The storage room was pin neat and had enough space for what he needed to do. “Shouldn’t we turn the lights off?” Shelley asked. Leo stared at her. “Shouldn’t you take your clothes off?” Yep, he was already in Dom mode. That was plain to see. “Hurry, baby. Logan, Seth, and Georgia's story was not a slam dunk for me but it was certain able to light the pages on fire and have me turning each page to get more and find out more. I really enjoyed the characters both primary and secondary. I loved the sense of family and friendship strong.

“Holy shit.” Logan practically beamed at the thing that looked like it could eat her. “Seth! Seth, get in here!” He went to the door and yelled for Seth again. Seth ran in, his eyes wide and his body covered only in a towel. A little towel. A tiny white towel that contrasted with his tan skin and had been wrapped over ridiculously muscled hips. He had those notches, the ones she’d always been sure some artist Photoshopped onto male models because no one could be that perfect. His dark hair was wet, curling above his shoulders. Moisture clung to his every muscle and, holy hell, he had a lot of them. They hid underneath his perfectly tailored suits. Georgia forgot about the crazy-ass creature that had come straight out of some danger-in-the-wild documentary and watched the two gorgeous predators who had invaded her room. She pulled the covers up to her neck, aware that she didn’t look anything like they did. “Maurice.” Seth took a step forward. “Wow. How the hell long do moose live, man? It’s totally Maurice. You can see where Hiram tried to take him down. There’s a scar on his nose.”Logan moved in, too, and she could see the easy way the two men related. For a moment she saw the kids they had been, friends forever. God, she’d never had a friend like that. Logan opened the window and she heard a loud chuffing noise. “He kicked Hiram in the groin. It was a damn lucky thing the man already had three kids because I heard nothing worked the same after. Hey, boy. You remember me?” Another huff and she was about to believe the thing knew how to communicate. Seth looked over at her, his eyes glinting. “We don’t get a ton of moose around here. Maurice is a legend. The people of Bliss say that if he shows up at your place, you’re blessed. Meant to be here. He’s the welcoming committee.” Logan laughed. “What no one will tell you is he’s a total snack whore. If you leave a Snickers bar on the porch, he will show up lickety-split. When Laura finally got comfy, I snuck some chocolate onto her porch so she would feel welcome.” “I’m glad she stayed. I heard she got married,” Seth said. Logan nodded. “Got a kid now. That’s why I’m here. Her husbands need some paternity leave. I heard it’s a girl.” Their shared history was right there, a palpable thing between them. It was almost as though she could reach out and touch it, feel the warmth of it. Logan and Seth felt like a family. What was she doing here? Once again, like most of her life, she was the outsider. Even among her brothers, she’d felt it. Chase and Ben had each other. Mark and Dare had been tight. And she and Win had been so far apart in age that they couldn’t connect on a brother-sister level. She’d been alone. The only child whose mother wasn’t up to snuff. The only one without money when the tide had turned. Logan looked down at her, his eyes softening. “Georgia, I’m sorry about last night. I didn’t mean a word of what I said. Built for three.” “Good for you and whatever ménage you choose to invite. Could you go away so I can get dressed?” Last night seemed like a dream, and more than a little like a nightmare. The Book Junkie Reads . . . Review of . . . ONCE UPON A TIME IN BLISS (Nights in Bliss, #8) . . . After getting started and sinking in with the Bliss, CO and its inhabitants, I was wanting more. I have to go back to start of this series and read them all and then read this one again. John/Henry was a walking desire on two legs. He was a man on a resting mission or was he. But either way the time he thought he would spend just passing with a willing woman turned out to be so much more. There were fantastic characters, a charming town, suspense and danger, and more. I was regretting putting it down, but I will return again and read it after the first seven books get devoured. Happily. 

The dedication at the beginning of this one was beautiful. I want to say thank you.

“Is there any way you could drop me off in town?” He felt his eyes narrow because she had plans. That was obvious. He was fairly sure that he wouldn’t like her plans. “Why?” “Because I need to start scheduling the repairs.” That wasn’t all she was planning on doing. She was hiding something. It was right there in the way she wouldn’t look him in the eyes. And why had she talked about her mom staying with Pam Sheppard and not herself? It was time to start herding Nell in the proper direction. He crowded her. It wasn’t hard in the small bedroom. The minute she realized how close he was, she backed up, ceding the space until her back hit the door. “Henry?” “How do you intend to pay for those repairs?” This cabin would require extensive repairs. Everything would have to be replaced. The door alone would cost hundreds of dollars, not to mention fixing the windows. He would bet a lot that Nell didn’t have that money. Her face flushed the closer he got. Yes, she was aware of him, finally. That was what he wanted. “I don’t know that’s your business.” “So it’s my business to take care of this for you, but not to know how you’ll take care of yourself? All she’d talked about on the way over here was her writing. “I thought you wrote books.” Her back was against the wall. She had nowhere to go, and that was just what he wanted. Her eyes had dilated. They roamed from his face to his neck to his chest, taking him in even as she spoke. “I do, but I have to admit, I don’t think I’m very good at it. I keep getting rejected, so I might as well get rid of the computer. Do you have to stand so close?” There wasn’t a trace of irritation in that question. It had been asked with a delicious breathiness that let him know she was interested. “If you didn’t want me to stand so close, you should have gotten a bigger bedroom,” he said, well aware his voice had gone low. He stared down at her, unwilling to let her off the hook for a second. Now that he was close to her, he was damn sure he couldn’t let her go. Oh, eventually he would. He would go back to his life and she would move on with hers, but for a week or so, he was going to be in her bed. He was going to be in her body. And he was going to solve a few of her problems. “You can’t pawn your computer. How will you keep up with your protests? How will you know what to protest in the first place?” It didn’t make any sense, but he couldn’t stand the thought of her walking into some crummy shop and giving up her computer for half of what it was worth. “I’ll figure it out,” she replied, her eyes round. And selling the thing wouldn’t do any good. It would be a drop in the bucket of what she would need. “It won’t work, Nell.” He backed her against the wall. “Let someone help you. I can loan you the money.”It wouldn’t be a loan, but she didn’t have to know that until he was long gone and she couldn’t find him. “That’s not a good idea.” Her head tilted up. “None of this is a good idea.” But her lips, those fuck-me, take-me lips, were trembling. Her hands were moving to his waist like she couldn’t help herself, and he didn’t even want to try to help himself. Everything about his life was plotted and planned and decided on for the best of whatever fucking mission he happened to be on. He didn’t want to think. He wanted her. That was all that mattered.“It’s the best idea I’ve had in a long time.”

The Book Junkie Reads . . . Review of . . . ONCE UPON A TIME IN BLISS (Nights in Bliss, #8) . . . After getting started and sinking in with the Bliss, CO and its inhabitants, I was wanting more. I have to go back to start of this series and read them all and then read this one again. John/Henry was a walking desire on two legs. He was a man on a resting mission or was he. But either way the time he thought he would spend just passing with a willing woman turned out to be so much more. There were fantastic characters, a charming town, suspense and danger, and more. I was regretting putting it down, but I will return again and read it after the first seven books get devoured. Happily. 

The dedication at the beginning of this one was beautiful. I want to say thank you.
