Publisher: BrixBaxter Publishing
Released: June 17th 2019

The Book Junkie Reads . . . Review of . . . MY LAST CHANCE . . . How do one put things without giving away the story? Here we go. A BBW girl (and yes girl) finds herself with the one person she never ever thought in a billion years would or could find her attractive enough to do what they did and then he did the unthinkable. You have to listen to find that out. Then we fast forward some years later and we find that the BBW is no long a BBW and she is not longer a girl. She is a grown woman with a body to match and lifestyle changed. She has grown up in more ways than one. And her boy-crush/former friends/possible investor had most certainly grown into a very sexy man.
Both find that life had different things in-store for them as they got older. Hurt. Shame. Guilt. Rejection. All these different things play a part in their current dealings with each other. Come take a journey and see how they handle all the thing placed in their paths.
The duo narration brings the story to life but it more so Lacy Laurel and the dominating role of the female that gives you the most insight.
I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Weston Parker. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.

 I’ve made lots of mistakes.

But never one like this.

Back in high school, the girl next door spent a serendipitous night in my arms. But she wasn’t my type or really up to my level.
So I walked away not knowing her secret—our secret.
Years later, I’m still at the top of my game, ruling my own chunk of the world.
She walks into my office a different woman. Strong, sexy, and dead set on revenge.
I need to walk away again, but I can’t. She’s a different person, and yet, all the things that first had me taking a chance with her pull me back in—deeper this time.
She’s going to wreck my life, one bad decision at a time, and fuck me, I’m going to let her.
The fact that the little man who calls her mom acts like me stops me in my tracks. He even loves the same things I do.
Surely not.
No damn way I’ve been a selfish bastard and haven’t considered the possibilities of our night together so long ago, but it’s true.
He’s mine, and I’m instantly in love with both of them.
I need one more chance, and I’ll do anything to get it.

Narrator Bio

After going to school to obtain her BS and MBA, then starting a rather large and boisterous family, Lacy Laurel dove back into literature in order to relieve stress and have a little "me" time. Once finding audiobooks and falling in love with performance all over again, she set her sights on learning the art of telling an interesting and exciting story. Naturally being the passionate person that she is, she gravitated towards romance and erotica. Lacy thoroughly enjoys getting to bring stories of passion, love, loss, hunger, and angst to life.

TOUR Where There's Smoke (Sweet Sin, #2) by Kathy Coopmans Narrators: Lacy Laurel & Lorenzo Matthews

Where There's Smoke
Sweet Sin, #2
by Kathy Coopmans
Narrators: Lacy Laurel & Lorenzo Matthews
Length: 8 hours and 1 minutes
Released: May 22, 2018
Publisher: Kathy Coopmans
Genre: Romance

The Book Junkie Reads . . . Review of . . . WHERE THERE'S SMOKE (Sweet Sin, #2) . . . Dean Wagner was in no way you typical hot, sexy, rocker dude and yet at the same time he was typical of your hot, sexy, rocker dude with a family/friends that he loved and respected. His life was not easy. He was not given the charm of having it all and keeping all parts of his life whole and healthy.  Tatum was a victim of life also. She had a fiance that was a jerk, leech, and worse. In a mater of hours she find that the man she thought she love did not love her or value her. He would not even get his feet wet to save her life. In a moment of in decision and desperation she finds that she is in a battle of life or death. The man to help her see clear is a man that had his own battle to wage.

This was my first time with a read from Kathy Coopmans in this series. I fell in love with the series. I am so intrigued by the characters that I want more of them. I will be going back for book one and most certainly getting book three.

Narration from Lacy Laurel and Lorenzo Matthews just intensified the enjoyment of this read. I found it to have layers. The tone and pitch of voices were just what was needed to move you. You could visualize every step of the way. In the narration you could feel the pain, loss, and disbelief of the events as they were unfolding.

I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Lacy Laurel. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.

From USA Today Bestselling Author comes a standalone in the Sweet Sin series.

The lives of Dean Wagner and Tatum Fields have been ruled by the hand of fate.

The past six years of my life have been consumed by guilt. Since we lost Landon to a fire, I’ve done everything in my power to protect my daughter, Leila, from finding out the truth about how her twin brother died. Nothing in my life means more to me than her.

Not my band, not my reputation. Nothing.

Until I see Tatum, the woman I saved on the beach the same night she dealt with a loss of her own.
~
The daily routine I’ve settled into is what keeps me going. Work at my chocolate shop, pay the bills, repeat. I don’t date. I don’t trust. And I have never forgotten the man who walked away from saving my life without allowing me to thank him.

I know how to reach him, but I avoid him at all costs.

Until fate decides to make another appearance.

This is a story of how destiny ends up bringing these two souls back together, and how fate, the word very little people believe in is really their friend, after all.

Audiobook Tour - Stepping Stone (Stone, #2) by Dakota Willink Narrator: Lacy Laurel, Jeffrey Kafer

Stepping Stone
Stone, #2
by Dakota Willink
Narrator: Lacy Laurel, Jeffrey Kafer
Length: 7 hours 57 minutes
Release date: June 29, 2017
Publisher: Dakota Willink, LLC2017
Genre: Contemporary Romance

The Book Junkie Reads . . . Review of . . . STEPPING STONE (Stone, #2) . . .  Krys and Alex are back in another installment to their relationship. There was still intensity in their connection and uncertainty in the possibilities of a relationship future. Stepping Stone  picks up very close to where Heart of Stone ended. We find that the both of them are having a hard time with this separation.

I was able to knock this audio out in a matter of hours. I may have taken one break and that was it. I wanted to know how things progressed for them and if there would be another stone to turn over. Well, I don't want to give that part away. This was a read that lived up to the first book maybe more so because we get to see more of both Krys and Alex. They both have deep demons and need to open to the other. This was angst, drama, heartache.

I am looking forward to the next chapter in Alex and Krys relationship. The Stone series has risen to the occasion and I find it to be a success. This was more than a battle for the heart. It was the next step forward for them both.

Narrator Review of . . . STEPPING STONE (Stone, #2) . . . Lucy Laurel was amazing, yet again. Her diction clear, strong, and held that hint of allure that draws me in to her voice with each new audio I experience with her. She adds that something extra that makes you feel.

Jeffery Kafer can pull of sexy male oh so well. His female characters live a little bit of imagination investigations. I feel that female sounds too hard.

With all that said the clarity and the smooth flow of the audio was there. I found no hiccups in the recording and no issues with the speed controls.

I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Dakota Willink. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.

The story of Krystina and Alexander continues in Stepping Stone, book two of The Stone Series.

Krystina Cole is flawed and damaged from a traumatic experience. A relationship with Alexander Stone will never work. She knows that her capacity for love is limited, and that only she alone can repair the pieces of her shattered heart. But Alexander is everywhere she turns. In her mind. In her heart. And in her soul. She cannot deny him. He is her addiction and she is unable to stay away.

Alexander Stone has accepted the inevitable. If he wants to hold on to Krystina, he must bare all and release the secrets in his past. There were risks, but she is worth it. No woman has ever affected him the way that she did. She is the sunshine in his darkness. The lightning to his thunder. She is his angel.

Bound by their passion to be together, Alexander and Krystina fight to let go of their pasts. Together, they embark on journey of self-exploration, relying on trust to be their ultimate bond. Falling completely into one another, there finally seems to be a beacon of hope for their future. But as they test their boundaries of desire, fate takes an unexpected turn, threatening their only chance at survival…

Dakota Willink is a contemporary romance writer and editor, and the author of The Stone Series. She is an associate member of Romance Writers of America and a Readers’ Favorite International Book Awards winner.
Dakota has always had a passion for reading and writing. From the time she was an adolescent, she enjoyed curling up with a good paperback, reading genres that ranged from thriller and fantasy, to mystery and romance. She always dreamed of one day writing her own book, but had put her aspirations on hold to focus on her family and a career that would pay the bills. However, her heart continued to be with fictional characters – whether they belonged to a favorite author or if they were just stories that she made up in her own head.

In 2013, Dakota gathered enough courage to turn her dreams into a reality. In between playing chauffeur to two very busy children and working her job during the day, Dakota began to put words on paper. Eventually, she began to describe her life as a book. Everything she saw or heard throughout the day, intertwined with her imagination for the creation of future writings. By 2014, with the support of her husband and two children, she gave up the security of a steady paycheck and began working on her first novel full time.

Her first novel, Heart of Stone, was published in December of 2015. Less than a year after its release, the Readers’ Favorite International Book Awards recognized Heart of Stone as the 2016 Bronze Medalist in the romance category.

Dakota resides in the Western New York area, where she enjoys spending time with family, her two Labrador Retrievers, and her spoiled rotten cat. During the summer months, she can often be found soaking up the sun on the Great Lakes with her family.

Audiobook Tour w/Exclusive - Heart of Stone (Stone, #1) by Dakota Willink Narrator: Lacy Laurel, Jeffrey Kafer

Heart of Stone
Stone, #1
by Dakota Willink
Narrator: Lacy Laurel, Jeffrey Kafer
Length: 14 hours
Release date: June 29, 2017
Publisher: Dakota Willink, LLC2017
Genre: Contemporary Romance

The Book Junkie Reads . . . Review of . . . HEART OF STONE (Stone, #1) . . . Was I prepared for the impact of this read? I think not. Was I prepared to experience this ride with Krys and Alex? Oh, yes in deed. There was that taste of intense connection from their first meeting on the floor of the display aisle in the grocer. All the way to that sweet, gentle touch in the front seat of his car. This was a deeper more intense read than I expected, but still loved the ride. I wanted so many time to lash out at so many of those encountered, run from Alex or at the least turn my back and walk away, slap Krys and tell her to get with it. This read demanded to be heard. It screamed and escape from the everyday and gave me that something extra that I was looking for.

For a few hours a day for several days, I was pulled in to the world of Krys and Alex. New, exciting, pain, loss, fear, uncertainty, anger, regret, retreat, unfamiliar.   Krys’ demons are exposed. Her pain exploited. Her realization of where things really were going. Painful. Sad. Real. Heartbreaking.  I’m looking for the next step for Alex and Krys. How will this be resolve? When will Trevor pain? What did Jim decide? Now, what really happened in Alex’s past that has him so. . . ? I want to know so much and then so more. Much I don’t expect to have answered every because they are inconsequential things.

I found me a very good read that kept me up and down. Looking forward to getting to the next chapter and what was next to be put before me. Alex and Krys show age is only a number, class is a barrier not a complete hindrance, life experiences can be binding and bonding, connections makes an impact across time.  I do so recommend this read for something with a task of BDSM, conflict, strain, stress, romance, and insight.

Narrator Review of . . . HEART OF STONE (Stone, #1) . . . I must give many and much props to Lucy Laurel. She was amazing. She pulled it off and then some. She could have done the whole read herself and I would not have been disappointed. She did very good with both male and female voices. Her diction clear, strong, and held that hint of allure that drew me in to her voice.

Jeffery Kafer had that total sexy masculine voice that made Alex sound even sexier. I lost just a bit with Krys but the strength of his vocal talents was still there and still pleasant.

The clarity and the smooth flow of the audio was there. I found no hiccups in the recording and no issues with the speed controls.  This will be an audio that will get repeat play time.

I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Dakota Willink. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.

Krystina Cole was a girl on a mission. She had big dreams and aspirations, none of which included a man by her side. She knew better than that – at least until she met Alexander Stone, the New York billionaire real estate tycoon. She saw the way that he looked at her, and the dark promises in his eyes. She was curious about his world and all that it entailed. But the shadows of her past haunted her, making her afraid to explore possibilities that she could never before have imagined…

Alexander Stone was a man who knew how to get what he wanted. He understood the value of finesse, and the importance of patience and diligence to achieve the desired result. He was successful and wealthy, relying on his naturally sharp instincts to guide him through life. But a chance run in with Krystina Cole quickly turned his world upside down. Her quick wit and firecracker attitude was the complete opposite of what he wanted in a woman, and his instincts failed him at every turn…

However, both Krystina and Alexander are clinging to the secrets in their past, and neither of them are willing to compromise. Krystina’s hardened heart makes emotional surrender a hard limit. But for Alexander, revealing his past could have devastating results.

Question: What's your favorite holiday tradition?
Dakota Willink: Setting up my christmas trees. I have five of them. The first tree is for all the “kids” ornaments. The second tree is, as my husband likes to call it, a catalogue tree. A Polar Express train circles the base and it’s full up with ribbons, bows, beads, and elegant ornaments that all follow a color theme. The third tree is my travel tree and has ornaments from all our family vacations. The fourth is a wine tree - pretty self explanatory, as it’s full of wine themed ornaments. The fifth is a Star Wars tree - I have a slight obsession.
