London Soul, book two in an all-new contemporary romance duet by Nana Malone.

The Book Junkie Reads . . . Review of . . . LONDON SOUL (London Royal Duet, #2) . . . London. Yes, London. This was the one place that you could get lost if you wanted to. But when you find yourself face-to-face with a dream. What do you do? I can say this. It is not have the ability to run the other way. No. Not at all. You stand your ground and accept what you got coming. At the end of part one we got a cliffhanger. Well, of course. Drag it out some more. I wanted to see. Life is hard. Love is even harder. You have to fight for every step you make and to make it more you have to fight even harder. Lex finds out that sometimes just because you are rich, entitled, and a pain. Life will keep coming at you regardless. Abbie finds that even after all the world has thrown her way. There was still more coming.

I loved the previously titles London Bound and London Calling. I was sad to see their stories end. But with the new London duet from Malone. I was excited all over again. I was happy to see previous couples that I feel for. I was excited to see Malone go back to where I fell in love with her. There was no way to get around this. You must read both books to get the full story. No cheating. No skimming. You need to read it all from page one of book one to the final setting and last words of book two. You will find so much to fall for in both Lex and Abbie.

BLURB
Before her, I was:

Rich.

Entitled.

A possessive pain in the ass.

Who am I kidding? I still am.

Love wasn’t for me.

I’d come to terms with that a long time ago.

And then I met her. I was this close to freedom. But one look at her and I was caught in a web I couldn’t escape. One I didn’t want to escape.

But then someone took her from me. Now they’ll find out just how far I’m willing to go to get her back.

To save the woman I love, all I need to do is expose my secrets. Secrets that will have consequences for her and the crown.

I scanned the crowd. Apparently, kink didn’t scare off the young, elite, and rich. The usual crowd I’d see at China White were all here trying too hard not to look desperately bored. Through the crowd, I spotted a flashbulb go off, and I stiffened. Calm down, mate. Of course, the club had hired photographers for the event. But I eyed the shutterbug again. Slight build. Dirty blond hair gelled up into spikes. I could have sworn I’d seen him before. The hairs on the back of my neck stood at attention, but I couldn’t place the guy. I needed to calm down. The hiring staff would only hire reputable photographers. They knew that we required the utmost privacy, and they wouldn’t hire anyone who had ever worked with the tabloids. But still, I couldn’t shake the feeling I’d seen the guy before. Maybe he was one of Xander’s students? “Speaking of complications…” I muttered. I couldn’t have missed Abbie’s entrance with her friends if I’d been trying. Sophie squealed when she spotted me, and immediately a flock of women swarmed the models. One of the guys put his arm around Abbie, and I had the irrational urge to plant my fist in his face. She’d texted earlier to say she was going out, but I had no idea she’d end up here. As always, she looked stunning. She’d worn her braids piled on top of her head in some kind of bun, with long dangling earrings showing off her slender neck. Gemma glanced toward the entrance. “Given the electric sparks between you two across a room, I see why the urgency.” “Leave it, Gem.” “Just saying. Give me a couple of weeks before you two get cited for public eye shagging.” She gathered up her purse. “I think I’ll go see what Nick’s up to.” I didn’t even see which way she went because my attention was so focused on Abbie. And as if she felt my eyes on her, she immediately looked up. When our gazes locked, need chased the elation through my veins. I’d only seen her yesterday, but any time I spent away from her felt like eons. But it wasn’t like I could really complain. She’d had work to do for my brother. I tried not to think about what Xander had said about her. It didn’t matter what Xander thought. I couldn’t stop seeing her. She climbed the stairs, her soft skirt swishing against her legs as she did. When she reached the landing, she fixed me with a smile. “Fancy meeting you here.” She looked around surreptitiously. “In a sex club.” “Oh, is it a sex club? I hadn’t noticed.” I grinned. “Nick’s idea.” “Ahh, he didn’t really strike me as the whips-and-chains kind of guy.” She shrugged. For several moments, we stood facing each other, neither moving, forcing anyone who wanted access to the stairs to go around us. Finally, I angled my body a little closer to her and said, “It’s one of his dad’s clubs. Do you want to go somewhere a little more private… to talk?” Her eyes flashed. “Yeah.” She cleared her throat. “Talking seems like a really good idea, actually.” I took her hand and led her through the throngs of the VIP section, past the dominatrix with her victim for the night, and past the sex viewing rooms. She held on tight to me as we passed by them. “Are they having…” “Yeah.” As much as I wanted to be with her, I hated having her here in the midst of all the kink that was going on. “Maybe we should leave the club?” “I—No. It’s okay. We came as a group for Jasper’s gig tonight. Apparently, there’s some big promoter here. Jasper’s hoping to get some representation tonight. We’re sort of supporting him. Everyone would notice if I left.” “Right.” Jasper. Jasper might be my friend, but jealousy ate at me. I wanted her there to support me. Of course, I’d have to tell her something real about myself first. I found the private rooms, then after looking around to make sure no one paid us any attention, I dragged her inside. Dim red light illuminated the comfortable-looking couch and bed. Her eyes widened as she glanced around. “This is… cozy.” I kissed her softly, and for a moment, all the tension ebbed out of my body. “I just wanted to be alone with you for two minutes before things get crazy out there and we don’t have a minute to talk all night.” “No. It’s fine.” She placed a hand on my chest, and my heart hammered. “I’d rather get a minute with you, even if it’s in a sex room. I wanted to talk to you about something.” We’d spent a lot of time together over the last week, but we hadn’t been alone. Always out in public. Even the photo lab had been occupied when I’d gone to help her. The one night we’d made a date for her to go to my place, she’d had to do some schoolwork for Xander and rescheduled. The prick of guilt stung as I thought of how badly her last critique had gone. “Okay, talk.” I kissed the crook of her neck and inhaled. Her perfume, mixed with her unique scent, drove me a little crazy and made my head swim. “Alexi, I can’t—” She moaned when I licked her. “I can’t think when you’re doing that.” “Okay, sorry.” I drew back. “Sometimes I forget to slow down.” She blinked up at me and inhaled deeply. “Sometimes I don’t want you to.” I stilled. What? “I don’t understand.” “Have you noticed that even after we said we’d ease up on intensity we’ve been spending every minute we can together?” Something ominous and slimy squirmed in my gut. “I thought that was a good thing.” “It is. Maybe we don’t need to take it quite so slow anymore.” Relief washed over me like a wave. As did panic. I was totally fucked. I was completely in love with her. And there were things she still didn’t know about me.

Author Info
USA Today bestseller, Nana Malone's love of all things romance and adventure started with a tattered romantic suspense she "borrowed" from her cousin.

It was a sultry summer afternoon in Ghana, and Nana was a precocious thirteen. She's been in love with kick butt heroines ever since. With her overactive imagination, and channeling her inner Buffy, it was only a matter a time before she started creating her own characters.

While she waits for her chance at a job as a ninja assassin, in the meantime Nana works out her drama, passion and sass with fictional characters every bit as sassy and kick butt as she thinks she is.

Abbie...
"I figured I'd try something different and ask you to dance." I whirled around and let out a small squeak of alarm. The muscles in my lower belly quivered, and my breath caught. My savior from earlier stood in front of me, looking like a cross between an angel of mercy and the devil incarnate. "We have to stop meeting like this," I mumbled. A smile tugged at the corners of his lips. "Well, there's no rain at the moment, so we should be safe. I trust we were able to save your camera?" Heat flooded my cheeks. "Yes. Thank you. Honestly that could have been ugly today. I'm indebted." "How about a dance, and we'll call it even?" A dance? With him? Pressed up against... "I, uh..." "Now, I'm not as good as you are, so you'll need to take it easy on me." He outstretched his hand and waited for me to take it. He didn't press or push, just stood there... waiting. Jasper didn't help me when he switched the track to a dancehall reggae song with a grooving beat. Butterflies fluttered low in my belly. When was the last time I'd had butterflies? Unfortunately, with those butterflies also came fear. The fact was I didn't know this guy. But, if he'd wanted to hurt you, he could have already. It's just a dance. I glanced down at his hand and placed my palm in his. Determined not to be nervous, I smiled up at him. "Hardly seems fair. You saved my life, and all you get is this dance." He drew me close, but not too close, keeping his hands at my waist. He waited patiently until I looped my arms around his neck. "It's well worth it to me." The low rumble in his chest as he spoke sent shivers coursing through my body. As it turned out, he didn't need any help dancing. He moved us easily in time to the seductive beat. I didn't dare look around because I knew what I'd find—couples pressed so close that we might as well be naked and in bed. Dirty dancing was a requisite of dancehall music, but my partner kept a marginally safe distance between us, figuratively if not literally, because with every down swing of the base, our hips rocked into each other. I swallowed hard, but then forced my gaze up to meet his. As soon as our eyes met, my heart rate kicked. His slate gray eyes, framed by dark lashes, stayed on mine. Nervously, I licked my lips. He stilled for just a second, causing me to lose my footing and bringing me flush against his body. I froze, muscles tight. Touching wasn't something I was used to or allowed easily. But with him, I didn't want to be anywhere else. He smelled of mint and something crisp and woodsy, like he'd spent the afternoon outside on the water. I released my strangled breath and let my body relax into his. I felt, rather than heard, the low rumble in his throat as his chest vibrated against mine. His warmth enveloped me, and I could tune out everything but him. As if it were only the two of us on the edge of the dance floor. There, in the dark, in the arms of a relative stranger, I felt safe. His hands shifted on my waist as his thumbs traced my hip bones, and I forgot to breathe. Wobbly knees forced me to tighten my hold on him. As if responding to my body's automatic softening, my eyes dipped to his lips. What the hell am I doing? My brain tried desperately to take control of the situation, but I didn't feel like listening. For the first time in longer than I cared to think about, I liked having someone's hands on me. I wasn't afraid. Instead, I craved it, that connection. My body hummed with vibrant sexual energy. An energy I hadn't felt in six long years. There were nerves, but not from fear or trepidation. It felt good. Better than good. It made me remember how much I needed to be touched. Or rather touched by someone who could make me feel safe. But just as the last of the tension ebbed out of my body, his thumbs pressed gently against my hip bones, moving me back several inches. He raised his head, and we stood like that for several seconds before I realized Jasper had switched the music. Oh, God. I'd been standing there with a total stranger, practically melting into him. Heat rushed to my face. "I—" He smiled, and I was too blinded to finish. Gently, his thumbs traced across my hip bones once more, and he let me go. "Thank you for the dance." Then he turned around and walked away. I spent several seconds staring after him. What the hell had just happened? "Hey, there you are." Faith's voice broke me out of the fog. "Who was that you were dancing with?" I stared into the crowd feeling empty. "I have no idea."
