Publication date: June 20th 2023

BLURB

Essie Smith-Scott, the author known as SS, has been the number one erotic romance writer in the world for the past ten years. Movie deals, merchandise, dozens of books on the New York Times bestseller’s list, and the founder of the biggest romance convention to ever hit the planet.

Scoring an invitation to the Sin With Us Romance Convention in Las Vegas is the ‘big break’ every romance author hopes for and Cynthia Lear’s name just made it to the top of the wait list. She’s in. And she’s gonna make the most of it. This is her chance to shine and propel her career into the stratosphere.

But then she meets Essie’s twin brother, Steve. Not only is Steve Smith handsome, and charming, and loves her work—he’s also… lying. To the whole world. Literally everyone.

Because his twin sister, Essie, isn’t the one who’s been writing all those super-spicy Master Choke books all these years—it’s Steve.

EXCERPT:

“Holy shit.” Britney, the assistant, looks up at me with an incredulous expression of ‘what the fuck.’ “She’s a… a…”

I volunteer a noun. “A bitch?”

“Yeah!” Britney laughs this word out with gusto.

And I’m laughing too, but then I look over at Cordy, and she’s… not. “What did she mean by that?”

That question is directed to Britney, not me. And immediately I feel cut out of the conversation.

What did she mean by that? Translation—Did Raylen Star just caution me, Cordy, about handing over my ARC to SS’s brother, Steve, because she was insinuating they, she, he might steal my words?

That is exactly what Leslie fuckin’ Munch just did.

I had a good thing going with this girl. She and I were having a moment. And even though Britney kinda busted in on us, Britney wasn’t obtrusive. I was winning her over. Which is important. As the number one romance writer in the world, I wholly and completely understand that the new love interest must befriend the BFF.

And fine. Maybe ‘new love interest’ is a premature title for me? We were still on introductions. We hadn’t made any concrete declarations of intent or anything, but we were on our way. We were getting there. Would’ve gotten there if fuckin’ Leslie hadn’t showed up.

And now, as I watch Cordy and Britney exchange a look and in the next moment watch, in real time, as Cordy’s eyes drop down to the book gripped firmly in my hands, I have to tuck down a moment of rage.

Two minutes. Two. Minutes. That’s all it took for Leslie to ruin the good thing I was building with this lovely creature who might be the only person in the room who can write a run-on sentence with such skill, and emotion, and… and… and moxie that one does not even understand that she, lovely Cordy, just wrote the world’s longest run-on sentence because they have been captivated—imprisoned, even—by her brilliant author voice.

Cordy Serendipitous’s ability to string words together for the longest of sequences is what drew me to her in the first place. I love it. I love that she breaks all the rules. It’s so… so… fuckin’ courageous—especially in a world filled with people who want nothing more than the expected to jump out at them in a totally expected way, lest they have to stretch their minds a bit to find the hidden messages hiding just below the surface—that I, for once, did not feel like a completely isolated freak among those who fit in. At least as far as writing goes.

And Leslie Munch has fucked that up with two words of caution.

Be careful.

ALEC

Against all odds we found each other.

And then a single moment of betrayal ripped it all away.

I thought Christine had forgiven me. I thought we’d moved past it. I thought she’d healed.

CHRISTINE

I loved them both and they loved me.

But then Danny left and our triangle was broken.

So was I really that surprised when Alec put it back together again?

DANNY

We are meant to be together. We all know that.

But what did Alec do after I left?

What could he have possibly done to make Christine want revenge?

The Square is book two in The Shape of Love series collaboratively written by New York Times Bestselling author, JA Huss and actor/screenwriter, Johnathan McClain.
EXCERPT:
CHRISTINE
The betrayal is still fresh. The lapse in loyalty still real.
And I need him to forget.
But even though he’s not pushing me away, and that’s a good sign, and I know with such certainty that we will be together tonight, he’s not embracing it the way I need him to.
So I say, “Danny…” Because I need to tell him this. I need to explain everything. But the words I need leave me in that moment and the whole act is just another bit of unfinished business.
“Christine,” he says, his voice low and throaty as he kisses me again. His mouth opens up and his tongue slides up against mine. And I expect him to say something like… I want to fuck you now. Or, Everything will be OK. Or, Take off your clothes.
Or maybe he’ll just rip this little dress off my body, toss it overboard, and throw me down onto the overstuffed pillows of the deck couch and make me obey him.
But he says, “You need to lower your expectations.”
And I don’t know why, because this is not the way this night should be going and that should worry me, but I laugh.
“I’m serious,” he says, his fingertips slipping under the strap of my dress and dragging it over my shoulder, leaving it like that. Unfinished, just like I left his shirt when I started the process of unburdening him. He looks down at me, his blue eyes catching the moonlight, making them sparkle in that supernatural way. Convincing me that he’s wrong. That he is my hero. Even though he says, in the same moment, “I’m no hero. You know what comes out when you poke me. Blackness.”
I stop breathing and study him. Shaking my head. Because it’s not true. He’s the bluest thing in the entire universe. But I don’t want to waste time explaining why he’s so perfect or how I know he’ll save me—save everyone—when the time comes. So I reach down and grab his cock through his slacks and squeeze.
Which makes him close his eyes and smile.
And reach for the other strap of my dress.
And drag that one over my shoulder too.
Unfinished.
But it’s enough to keep things going. Because the dress is loose. Just a simple shift that hides what’s underneath with soft white silk. So when I pull my hand away from his hard cock, it falls. Right down to my hips, exposing the lacy, white, strapless bra that covers my breasts. And one more slight tug from him is all it takes to make the white silk slide over my hips and drop to the deck. It flutters for a second, catching the night breeze the way his shirt did, and then settles at my feet in a puddle of brightness against the dark.
He stops and looks at me.
And I wonder what he sees. A beautiful, young woman in matching white lingerie?
A friend? A lover?
His goddess who will save him—save everybody—when the time comes?
Or… does he just see me for who I am? The traitor.

MYRTLE

I’m a just an erotic woman who likes control.

And edgy sex.

And hard men.

At the same time.

So starting an outreach class at the TDH community center to teach other women how to put the dom in dominatrix was inevitable. Even if I was only doing it to use my boss, Pierce, as my submissive example and pay him back for humiliating me in front of the whole world last summer.

PIERCE

I regret what I did to Myrtle. She’s the best assistant I’ve ever had and I’ll play along—for now—because I want to make things right. But… come on. Me? A submissive? Ha. Myrtle Rothschild might have the upper hand at the moment… but I’m bringing my A-game. I’m gonna take back control.

She can wear her hot, thigh-high latex boots. She can crack that whip all she wants. Hell, I’ll even let her leave marks.

But I’m about to school Ms. Rothschild in the art of who’s the boss.

And she’s about to get Pierce-d.
EXCERPT:
MYRTLE
“Knock, knock?”
I look up from my computer and see Pierce, standing in the doorway of my office.
“Can I come in?” he asks.
“You’re the boss,” I huff.
He smiles. Tightly. Like he’s unsure how to proceed.
It’s just all so different.
“Uh… so how’s things?’
“Things?” I ask, raising one perfect eyebrow. “Do you have a specific example of said things?”
“Well, no,” he says, coming inside to take a seat in front of my desk. “Nothing specific. Just… wondering if you have time for a special project.”
We both look at my desk. Which doesn’t have a single file on it. Not even one sheet of paper. My Post-Its pad is still crisp and every pencil in my little pencil can is sharp. I think it’s pretty obvious that I do nothing in here all day.
But I’m still angry at him. So if he thinks I’m gonna be the first to admit I don’t actually have a job to do and I’m just wasting corporate money, he’s mistaken.
“I’m pretty busy,” I say.
“Yeah,” he says, sighing. “I know. And I don’t want to take advantage or anything, but I could use your help.”
I have my reading glasses on, so I do that head-tilt thing where you look down your nose at someone. “With what?”
He looks around. Plucks a pencil out of the pencil jar. Taps it to his head as he thinks.
He doesn’t have a project for me. He just wanted to come in here and feel me out.
We both know this.
But then he gets an idea. I swear I can see the little light bulb go off in his head. “The Halloween party.”
“What about it?”
“We… need… well…”
“Pierce?”
“What?”
“You don’t have a project for me. And I don’t even have a job here.”
“Of course you do! You’re the VP—”
“Of social media, I know. The little plaque outside my office says so. But we both know there’s no social media department. Not to mention, I’m not even on social media and have no idea how it even works.”
“You don’t have socials? How did I not know that?”
“Well, you did think I was the Sexpert. So I’m just going to assume you don’t actually know anything about me.”
“How can you still be pissed at me? It’s been months! I gave you a promotion, and an office, and—”
“Again,” I say, putting up a hand to cut him off, “I do realize all that. And once again, it’s all meaningless. You don’t even know what a social media department does.”
“It’s not meaningless.” He tugs on his suit coat. “And I’m well-versed in socials. I was Snapchatting just last night.”
“With who?”
“Uh…” He looks over his shoulder, like he needs a second to think, then says, “Valerie. She’s my chat friend now.”
“You know I can tell when you lie, right? Your left eye does this little wink thing every time.”
He huffs, then leans forward in his chair. “How long will you continue to do this?”
“Do what?”
“Punish me.”
I laugh. Stop. Then laugh again. It’s a little bit of a guffaw with a healthy dose of maniacal thrown in for good measure. “This is not me trying to punish you, Pierce. This is me biding my time.”
He lifts up one eyebrow. “Biding your time until… what?”
“Until I have the perfect diabolical plan to pay you back.”
He sits back in his chair, breathes deep. “So that’s what you need? Payback?”
“I was publicly humiliated. A woman doesn’t just get over it, Pierce.”
He winces when I snarl his name. “You hate me.”
“People look at me funny now, you do realize that?”
“Look at you funny how?”
“Like I’m hiding some secret sexual fetish side.”
“Aren’t you?”
“What do you want?”
“I mean, you do come off as… kind of a…”
“A what?”
“You know. Like you’re into the whole Red Room spanking thing, right?”
“Anastasia Steele? You’re comparing me to Anastasia Steele? Please.”
“Well, you wear those tight pencil skirts… and those sexy secretary glasses. Plus, I know you read that smut in here. You don’t even use an eReader. Everyone can see the covers. I used to have little Christian Grey fantasies when you used to look at me. Before… ya know, you decided to hate me.”
I laugh. And it’s not even maniacal. It’s real.
“Why is that funny?”
“My dearest Pierce,” I say, still chuckling, “you are no Christian Grey. If anyone is Mr. Grey in this relationship, it’s me.”

BOOK BLITZ w/GIVEAWAY - The Triangle (Shape of Love Series, #1) by JA Huss & Johnathan McClain

The Triangle
Shape of Love Series, #1
by JA Huss & Johnathan McClain
Publication date: September 25th 2018
Genres: Erotic Romantic Suspense

BLURB

“A suspenseful, tangled, erotic love story from the twisted minds of New York Times Bestselling author, JA Huss, and actor/screenwriter, Johnathan McClain.”

Alec. Christine. Danny.

This is how you say our names.

Danger is our drug of choice, the triangle our addiction.

Alec. Golden boy with diamonds in his eyes.

Christine. Partner in crime and owner of my heart.

They know what they want.

Me.

Danny. Unsure of everything they’re offering.

But if she needs me, I come.

So when he called, I went. It’s just that simple.

Until it wasn’t.

Until all those memories come rushing back with all the things we left behind.

I only know three things.

There is no her without him.

No me without them.

No we without us.

We are Alec, Christine, and Danny.

And this is the shape of our love.

EXCERPT:
CHRISTINE
Danny folds his arms across his chest. Defiant.
But Alec is already pushing me through the open apartment door. “Don’t worry. He’ll follow. It’s his fokken apartment, isn’t it?”
My eyes are still locked with Danny’s when I disappear inside.
Alec kicks the door closed, pushes me up against the wall, places both hands on my cheeks, and kisses me on the mouth.
Fuck.
I sink into him.
Absolutely sink.
The door slams open, hitting the wall so hard I know there’s a hole in the sheetrock. “Get your fuckin’ hands off her,” Danny says, pulling me away.
I spin into him. Bounce against the hard muscles of his chest. And an instant later his arms are wrapped around me, replacing the heat of Alec with the heat of him.
Sinking is something I could get used to. Because I do it again.
“Now you’re getting the idea,” Alec says.
“Oh, I’ve got ideas,” Danny says. “I’ve lots of ideas. And all of them involve me cracking that pretty face of yours into pieces.”
“Promises,” Alec huffs, taking a step forward.
“Back the fuck up, van den Berg. Now.”
“Sorry, bru. But she doesn’t belong to you.” He pauses, his eyes focused on Danny. And without dropping that challenging stare he says, “Tell him, Christine. Tell him why we’re here.”
Shit. Why are we here? Did I miss something? Are there still gaps in my memory?
“She’s here because you’re selfish,” Danny answers for me. “She’s here because once again, you got her wrapped up in some illegal bullshit.”
“Why don’t you ask her what she wants for once? Eh? I mean, I get it.” He takes another step closer. I’m in the middle now. Alec in front and Danny behind me. I can feel the heat of both men and they are on fire. “You had her first. Your claim is older. But you let her get away, Danny. You let her walk out and face the cold, hard world alone. And I never did. That should count for something.” He places his hand back on my cheek. Lets his gaze fall to me—“Right, luv?”—then rise back up to Danny.
Danny holds me tighter, the zippers of his leather jacket cold and biting against my back where my t-shirt has ridden up. God. Yes. “It counts,” I say, betraying Danny in the same moment I pledge allegiance to Alec.
And then I turn to face Danny.
He wants to be angry. He wants to glare at Alec. Probably kick his ass. But that turn changes everything. Because he forgets about Alec and only sees me.
I slowly rise up on my tiptoes. My hands slip underneath his jacket and slide along the cut muscles of his waist. He closes his eyes for half a moment, sighing inside as we fall into each other. My lips gently caressing as my tongue probes against his hard mouth.
He gives in.

COVER REVEAL - The Triangle by JA Huss & Johnathan McClain

The Triangle
by JA Huss & Johnathan McClain
Publication date: September 25th 2018
Genres: Erotica, Romance, Suspense
BLURB

They’re sworn enemies and I’m in the middle.

Both of them claimed me. Had me. Used me. Forgot me.

Except… I don’t remember any of it. I don’t even know who I am or why I’m in this cramped basement apartment with tinfoil covering the tiny windows when my bank account says I have over two million dollars.

I don’t know how I got the stitches on the back of my head, or the scar under my chin, or the ache in my shoulder—but I do know I probably deserved it.

I don’t know why there’s a shotgun in the closet, a sniper rifle under the floorboards, and a pistol under my pillow.

I don’t know why I stay.

I don’t know why I care.

I don’t know why I’m trying to put something back together when it was never whole to begin with.

Until I look at them.

Until they look at me.

Until I touch them.

Until they touch me.

And even though the memories don’t come back.

I know.

I know why I stay.

BOOK BLITZ - The Sexpert: A Tall, Dark & Handsome Novel by JA Huss & Johnathan McClain

The Sexpert:
A Tall, Dark & Handsome Novel
by JA Huss & Johnathan McClain
Publication date: July 24th 2018
Genres: Adult, Comedy, Romance

BLURB
A new standalone romantic comedy from New York Times bestselling author, JA Huss, and Actor/Screenwriter, Johnathan McClain.

EDEN
I’m just a simple girl who likes dessert. And sexy men. And social media. So starting an anonymous video channel called The Sexpert as a side hustle to make up for my low-paying marketing job at Le Man Magazine seemed like a perfectly sensible career decision. Until we went viral, my boss accused my anonymous personality of stealing his idea, and now my super sexy new boyfriend, Andrew, is out to get me.

Her. Me. Whatever.

ANDREW
I don’t want it to be her. I do not want this… sweet, delicious, shy social media nerd working at my best friend’s magazine to be the face behind those perky cupcakes on the Sexpert channel. I don’t want it to be her… because I like her. A lot. She’s funny, and quirky, and smart, and creative… and… I really, really like her. It just can’t be her.

But it is.

And now I have to choose.

My best friend?

Or… The Sexpert?

EXCERPT:
Me: bitch we got problems pierce is sexpert
I didn’t mean it to come out like that but I can’t be bothered with punctuation right now. And anyway, two seconds later my phone buzzes an incoming call from Zoey. I tab accept and whisper, “I’m gonna get fired today.”
“What the hell are you talking about? What’s that mean? Pierce is Sexpert?”
“I stole his idea and then he found out and I didn’t mean to do it and now the cute freeway guy is on the case and he’s gonna out me and get me fired! I’m fucked!” I whisper-scream that last part into the phone while I hold it at arm’s length.
“Eden!” Zoey snaps. “Calm the fuck down and explain! I didn’t understand any of that.”
But then the stairwell door opens on fifty and two girls—Sara from accounting and Leslie from data entry—start walking up to fifty-one towards me.
“Hey, girls!” I wave and smile at them, trying to act normal.
“Hey, Eden!” they chime back together. “Happy Monday!” they say.
“Happy Monday,” I say back.
Now I get it. I totally get why people hate it when I say that.
When they disappear onto fifty-one I go back to the phone. “How… when… Zoey! I think I might’ve stolen this idea from Pierce!”
“Don’t be ridiculous. I was there when you came up with it. Remember? It was Valentine’s Day two years ago and I was pregnant, and sad, and poor because business was bad and you said, ‘We should be strippers.’ And then I said, ‘I can’t be a stripper because I’m fat.’ And you said, ‘You’re not fat, you’re beautiful.’ And then I said, ‘We need a stupid YouTube series like that dumbass seventeen-year-old who got famous on Ellen! after she made stop-motion movies of Barbie and Ken having sex.’ And you said, ‘We should totally make a ridiculous sex advice channel and we should call ourselves the Sexperts!’ Remember all that?”
That was how it went down. “I was drunk though, remember? That asshole Matthew dumped me after I put out and I was pissed off. So maybe I accidentally heard Pierce say something about the Sexpert and then I only thought it was my idea?”
“That’s stupid. Don’t be stupid, Eden. You’re not stupid. You came up with the name! I was there!”
“Yeah, but we’ve been using Voice Lift to disguise my voice and the goddamned Voice Lift inventor is the cute freeway guy and now Myrtle says he’s on the case and he’s gonna figure out who I am!”
“Ridiculous!” Zoey yells. “No one is gonna find out who you are, Eden. We don’t even show your face.”
True.
I take a deep breath. Maybe I’m just overreacting?
