Janik
A war is brewing between the rebel forces I lead and the prince whose crown should belong to me. Except, instead of preparing to fight, I’m distracted by the arrival of the human brides. Or rather, by one of them. After a chance encounter, I can’t stop thinking about her.
When I spot Olivia walking with another male, the mating fever scorches my veins and the beast in my head roars “MINE.” A possessive impulse strikes, and I take her, hiding us away within the rainforest where the rebel camp lies.
Olivia
Good things never come to those of us in the bottom tier. Not even being chosen in a bridal lottery and bound for an advanced alien planet. Nothing’s changed despite no longer being on Earth, because nobody mentioned the impending war on Bohna.
When the rebel leader takes me captive, my intentions are to make his life miserable. What I don’t count on is how much I enjoy verbally sparring with him. Or the spark of attraction that grows with each passing day. The longer I’m around Janik, the more I realize someone's lying about...everything.
Now I have to decide who to believe and if I should actually trust the rebel outlaw. Especially with my heart.
What starts out as a mating of convenience swiftly turns into more.

Kala
Raising my kit in peace with the few remaining members of my tribe is all I desire. I have even become allies with former enemies, the Tavikhi. Sorin now has friends and will grow up never having to battle just to stay alive.
I did not realize the depth of his desire for a mom until we meet Iris. She is a human, newly arrived on our planet, and resides in the Tavikhi village.
Humans are not meant for Krijese, though. It is far too dangerous for them. So I must ignore Iris, no matter how much I desire her.
Iris
All I’ve ever wanted is for people to see beyond my physical appearance to the person I am on the inside. It’s not until I leave Earth for an alien planet and meet a little boy who belongs to a local tribe that I am.
Then I meet Sorin’s father. After hearing how their species murdered humans, he terrifies me. The more I’m around them, though, the more I realize my fears are unfounded.
When Kala offers me a mating of convenience and what may be my only chance at becoming a mother, I accept. Before long, it’s not just the child I want, but also his father.
I’ll have to convince her she’s my heart’s fire before the madness consumes me.
Resisting the Alien Commander, an all-new rags to riches, forced proximity, alien romance and the first book in the Brides of Bohnari series from bestselling author Erin Hale is now available!
Horek
As Commander of the Bohnari guards, my career is the one thing I care about more than anything. Even more than the mating fever afflicting our males that causes us to slowly descend into madness unless we find mates.
When the crown prince of Bohna negotiates with one of the Earth leaders for willing human brides, I have no interest in one. No matter the risk.
Until one of the females triggers my mating fever to burn out of control, and all I desire is Quinn. Except another male wants her as well. I’ll have to convince her she’s my heart’s fire before the madness consumes me.
Quinn
Born and raised in the bottom tier, I know the upper tier will do anything to keep us down. When the President announces that we’re the only women eligible for the Bohnari bridal lottery, I’m suspicious. Not that I have any interest in becoming a bride and leaving my mother—and only family left—behind.
Except, somehow, my name is called, along with my best friend’s.
Once we arrive on Bohna, I manage to catch the attention of one of the younger guards. Too bad it’s the Commander who sets my blood on fire. When I learn the truth about the mating fever that affects him, I’m not sure I can trust what Horek feels is real.
A single touch from me triggers his mating marks to appear.

Sage
I’ve built a new life on the planet Tavikh, spending every day seeking penance. And despite witnessing three of my new-found friends find their fated mate, I don’t dare hope to find mine. Not when there’s a chance someone from Earth will arrive to take me back to face the consequences for what I did.
But when a gravely wounded warrior is brought into the healer’s tent, a single touch from me triggers his mating marks to appear. Maybe my punishment isn’t having to return to my planet, but rather being given a mate only for him to be taken from me.
Jodah
Ever since Deeka blessed the other warriors with their fated mates, I have wondered if the goddess will find me equally worthy. After awakening from a grievous injury, I discover it is the healer’s apprentice she has chosen for me. Except, despite my mating marks, I do not feel the mate bond within, leaving me to question whether Deeka made a mistake in her choice. Or perhaps I am being tested.
As I recover, and we spend more time together, there is something about my mate that makes me hope the bond may still form. Now I have to decide if I will follow where my heart is leading me or reject the female who may or may not be mine.
I must prove to her that, with me, she has nothing to fear.

Maeve
Fearing for my life, my closest friend helps me get a completely new identity. One that allows me onto a ship bound for a planet light years away from the death that awaits me if I remain on Earth.
Months later, life on Tavikh is good. As long as I avoid the attention of the massive Tavikhi warriors—the alien race native to this planet. Two of my best friends may have found their mates amongst them, but the men—males—terrify me. Especially the largest, grumpiest warrior in the village.
Benham
From the moment the humans arrived on Tavikh, we have done our best to protect them from our enemies. And yet, all they do is take advantage of our shefir’s kindness. All except for the new shefira and her four closest tribe sisters.
They bring hope to our people. Or to those wishing for a mate. Which does not include me. At least not until I accidentally collide with the smallest, always-frightened female who triggers my mating marks. Now I must prove to her that, with me, she has nothing to fear.
I call her stubborn. She calls me arrogant. Until an accidental touch triggers my mating marks and ignites my soul light.

Remi
It wasn’t easy escaping from the ivory-tower prison I’d been locked in my entire life. And an escape plan that includes a one-way ticket to an alien planet might not have been one of my smartest ideas. But coming to Tavikh has been the best thing to ever happen to me.
If I don’t count the vicious aliens who keep trying to kill me, along with the rest of the humans, that is.
After one of my friends turns out to be the fated mate of the leader of a friendly alien tribe, we move to their village for protection. I’m happy for her, but if I wasn’t going to allow my parents to force me to marry someone, I’m certainly not going to let some goddess either.
Especially if it’s to the jerk brother of the tribe leader.
Zydon
I disagree with my brother’s decision to allow the humans to live in our village. It only invites more trouble. Not only from our enemies, but now all the unmated warriors have become distracted. Just because my brother met his keeshla among the human females doesn’t mean anyone else will.
All my hope and prayers to Deeka are devoted to finding our missing younger brother. I have none to spare for finding a mate. Even if one of the females fascinates me.
We are constantly clashing. I call her stubborn. She calls me arrogant. Until an accidental touch triggers my mating marks and ignites my soul light. When I discover she has been hurt in the past, I must prove to her that I am a male worthy of being her mate.
I hate to break it to him, but I don’t believe in fate.

London
Life has sure kicked me in the teeth. After I’m arrested for stealing, I’m given two choices: prison or get shipped to the human settlement on the planet Tavikh. Since orange isn’t my color, I guess off-planet it is.
Except when our ship lands we’re attacked by vicious aliens no one warned us about. I’m suddenly rethinking my decision. Just as I swear I’m about to die, a towering alien with long, flowing golden hair and muscles rippling beneath gorgeous purple skin saves me.
When the battle is over and the good guys seem to have won, my savior tells me I’m his fated mate.
I hate to break it to him, but I don’t believe in fate.
Zander
As shefir of the Tavikhi, it’s my duty to lead our tribe and fight against the Krijese. When word comes that another Terran ship has arrived, we rush to defend them against our brutal enemies.
I’m unprepared, though, for my mating marks to burn and brighten in color when I rescue one of the human females. Is it truly possible that the goddess, Deeka, has chosen her as my keeshla—my fated mate?
Despite her continued denial of the mate bond, the attraction between us flares hotter than our sun. I must do everything to convince her that we are fated to be together. Even seduce her.

Two guards at the gated entrance greet us. Their eyes widen at the humans behind me and follow us with their gazes when we walk past. I release another call of the mellenje, and two females come rushing forward to meet us part way to the central fire.
“The healer’s apprentice will take the injured female to the healer. Please provide the others with furs for sleeping. Until tomorrow, they can sleep in the supply tent.”
“Yes, Shefir.” They dip their heads and gather the human females with soft whispers.
The six of them move away from us, although two of the human females glance over their shoulder at London, who attempts to follow. I wrap my tail around her waist to stop her. If only I could keep her in my embrace always. She jerks and gazes up at me with a wrinkle between her eyes as well as a question in them.
“You will sleep in my tent.”
She opens her mouth and I tug her against me, which has her promptly closing it again. I nearly groan in pleasure as her hands rise to my chest, and my mating marks burn and flare to life. Her gaze drops to them before she lifts it to meet mine.
“You are my keeshla and will become the Shefira of our village. My tent is where you belong and where you will sleep.”
