Reviews

“Heinrich offers an engrossing metaphysical excursion through the quantum realm to discover the meaning of life in this contemplative debut...[His] rich, multilayered backdrop of existential food for thought propel this story to a truly transcendental experience.”

— Publisher's Weekly

“Science and faith combine in this nuanced and compelling sci-fi eco thriller... [that] cleverly explores and intertwines the well established science vs religion discourse in a way that, I think, does credit to both sides.”

— LoveReading (featured under "Indie Books We Love")

“The Quantum Revelations is a wildly unpredictable narrative with a show stopping climax, pondering the interplay of science, religion, and technology in a way that is as captivating as it is disturbing.”

— Independent Book Review

Science and faith combine in this nuanced and compelling Sci-fi eco thriller.

In a world on the brink of climate catastrophe, two scientists continue their confidential work to develop a practical quantum computer, but they get more than they bargained for when their creation calls into question everything they thought to be true about the laws of physics and the world around them. The Quantum Revelations is a multifaceted sci-fi story. First off we have Skylar’s quantum computer experiment, tangentially linked to his interest in “quantum scale physics. He wanted to understand what really makes the universe tick”. )

The Book Junkie Reads . . . Interview with . . . Dr. Stuart B. Heinrich . . .

How would you describe your style of writing to someone that has never read your work?
My writing is very efficient and fast paced. My plots are complex and unpredictable, yet sensical. My writing is highly technical in nature, but only because this particular story requires it. Those that stick around will be rewarded, because I’ve carefully crafted a journey that blends fiction with reality in a way that may just make your head spin, and leave you questioning your own worldview.

Do you feel that writing is an ingrained process or just something that flows naturally for you?
Writing is an incredibly technical skill. I don’t believe anybody is born good at it. A good writer must really study the craft, learn how to structure emotional arcs to captivate and reward the reader’s attention. I studied many books on writing theory, spent years plotting out story arcs, character arcs, and inventing novel scientific theories for my characters. When I sit down to actually begin writing a scene, most of the hard work is already done...and that’s where I get to flow.

Do you take your character prep to heart? Do you nurture the growth of each character all the way through to the page?
I basically method act my characters. I build dossiers on them, watch youtube videos and try to learn any specialized knowledge they would have so that when I’m writing from their perspective, their unique expertise and perspectives come through.

Do you people watch to help with character(s) development? Or do you build upon your characters during story creation?
Before I even think about characters, I start with the overall controlling idea of the book and work backwards from there. I think about what actions I would need a character to take in order to to solidify the overall plot. Then I think about personalities my characters would need to have in order to justify those actions, and then I think about what life circumstances would give rise to characters having those required personalities. Once I’ve got that figured out, I observe and study real people, or think of people I’ve known, in order to flesh them out.

Do you have a character that you have been working on for a long time that still isn't quite ready, but fills you with excitement to work on the story?
No, because I would never start with a character and then try and concoct a plot around them. The story concept has to come first.

Can you share your next creative project(s)? If yes, can you give a few details?
I have about 20 different book plots swirling around, and I still haven’t decided exactly which I want to tackle next, but I’m thinking a lot about feel good utopias.

What are some of your writing/publishing goals for this year?
I may write for fun, but my writing goals are to market The Quantum Revelations. I don’t have any set targets, just simply to do the best that I can do.

Thank you Dr. Stuart B. Heinrich for joining and giving a little insight to you and your process. Your work is appreciated.
