Finding Alex
BLURB
Not knowing can be lethal
Assaulted, left for dead, and amnesic, the woman who thinks her name is Alex, may be the only surviving victim of a killer who’s targeting prostitutes and leaving their bodies without fingertips to complicate their identification. Denver Homicide Detective Blake Halloran is sure she is connected to the other killings but he can’t identify her, even with her fingertips intact. And she can’t remember anything—including the face or name of the man who tried to kill her.
With each new victim, it becomes more crucial for Alex to remember what happened to her if Blake and his partner are to solve the murders, but how do you force someone to remember? As Blake’s strong attraction to her and his need to protect her grows, so does his uneasiness about the inability to identify her, whether she’s a villain or a victim, and whether her amnesia is real.
The Book Junkie Reads . . . Review of . . . FINDING ALEX . . . Where do you go when you don't know who you are or what you may or may not have done? A crime. An injured woman. A woman with no memory. A mystery. A Connection. A thread. Two souls. One connection. Rich intense characters. With a story that brings you all this you would want to have an equally connecting cast of narrators to make it all that much more. I love having dual narrators it brings stories more richness, but this one was better it had a cast full of narrators that make you feel the story on a different level. There was a more intense layer of intensity, mystery, emotion and then some.
This was my first Helen Starbuck. I have to say it will not be the last. The mystery suspense of it all was what kept me on pace. The romance was underlying. You did not miss it but it was still there waiting in the wings and appearing when needed.
