The Book Junkie Reads . . . Thoughts from the listen of Audio Life&Limb ... Here we get a new series from Freya Barker. I have loved what I have read thus far from her. She was a new author to me this year. I have been able to dive right in to her romantic suspense with relish. I have loved unraveling the H/h and seeing what comes their way. Up with this one was Rosie and Jake. I love most of all that she deal with real adults that have some life experience under their belts. Each new story gives me character that I feel like I know or want to know more about.

I found once I was introduced to Jake and Rosie. I did not want to put it down. These two brought to the table their past, present and entwined their future together. The element of danger brings two characters together that would otherwise not have truly met. Freya Barker gives you a story to savor and consume all at the same time. There's thoughtfulness, truth, and feeling within the pages. You have more than a wham right in your face romance or one-sided suspense. The blend of the romance and the drama and suspense of who wants to hurt Rosie makes for a good read.

I loved this read, but with what I have gotten from FB in the past few years I have loved them all. I can relate and connect with her characters without it all feeling drawn out.

Tanya Eby & Patrick Zeller were the narrators of this one was just that extra layer that made it more. I really loved the male female dual POV narration. It gave the characters that personality that words alone cannot make by reading. The verbal allowed for a more vivid visualization.

Growing up a military brat and spending eight years overseas with the Army Medical Corps, clinical social worker, Willa Smith, has had enough of rules and regulations. Still able to work with veterans as she did at the VA Hospital, she is much happier at the new and far more relaxed South Avenue Shelter, until one of its residents is implicated in a murder. Former military turned security operative, Dimas Mazur, has worked for PASS security, his brother’s company, since he returned stateside after a disabling injury. The job keeps him busy, but when a homeless veteran he knows runs into trouble with the law, he doesn’t hesitate to jump in. The strong-headed counselor at the shelter where his friend stayed is an unexpected bonus. Until she puts herself square in the sights of the man he’s trying to take down.

Life&Limb by Freya Barker

The Book Junkie Reads . . . Thoughts from the listen of Audio Life&Limb ... We have seen bits of Dimas throughout the first book in this series and he was someone that I wanted to know more about. Was he the next one to have a book? I was thinking on of the other members of the team, but he, I should say they, maybe saved for a later book. While I get off topic. Dimas was just one hard working man that felt like his disability was going to get in his way. The men and women of PASS come together when they are needed. They find that one of their own is being targeted. Willa finds that same thing but in a different way. She finds that the men she had been helping are being used. And this finds that she becomes a target herself. This was full of what is going to happen, are they going to, will she really do that, where will things go next. I must say a few things I was not anticipating at all. Including a very spoiled over indulge princess that throws a little temper tantrum. This was another well written, well thought out mature adult romance.

Tanya Eby and Tor Thom bring to life a new set of characters from the PASS series. I love reading these stories but there is something extra that comes from listening to them without having to think of much of anything else.

About KT

KT Dove grew up, and still lives, in the Midwest. At an early age she developed a love for reading, driving the local small-town librarians crazy, and would plan plot lines and stories for her favorite characters. An eager student, KT received degrees in English, Speech/Drama, and Education. Yet instead of becoming the spinster English teacher as planned, she opted for an unexpected HEA of her own.

Now married and a mother, while still an avid reader, she stumbled upon the Indie author movement and became involved on several levels. Never in her wildest imagination would she have thought she would co-author a book, let alone more than one. With the support of her family, she took the plunge, adding writing to an already busy life and literary existence.

She wouldn't have it any other way!
