The Book Junkie Reads . . . Review of . .. MERCENARY (Gangsters of New York, #3) . . . To say that I was not certain about beginning this one would be putting things mildly. I was not to happy with the introduction of Corrado at the end of Marauder. He was presented to kill a fave character of mine. That would not do for me. I got something more. I find that that man I loved so much from Machiavellian has some common ground with the man that featured here.

Corrado was a true scorpian. He was precise, deadly, protective, and was determined to get what he was after. Alcina was strong and determined in her own rights. She was that Italian woman. She could hold you down and lift you up. She inspired loyalty.

These two characters find that they have just as much pulling/pushing them apart as bringing them together.

I took the time to fall in love with these two. I loved seeing some familiar. I loved getting answers. I would love to hear this flow through speakers and bring to life these characters as with the first book of the series.

Bella Di Corte has been writing romance for seven years, even longer if you count the stories in her head that were never written down, but she didn’t realize how much she enjoyed writing alphas until recently. Tough guys who walk the line between irredeemable and savable, and the strong women who force them to feel, inspire her to keep putting words to the page.

Apart from writing, Bella loves to spend time with her husband, daughter, and family. She also loves to read, listen to music, cook meals that were passed down to her, and take photographs. She mostly takes pictures of her family (when they let her) and her three dogs.
