Solitude and motor oil meets soul food and wariness
I’m a grease-stained enigma. A watcher, a protector, an ex-con, and a mechanic. My name is Brick. I’m old enough to know good things come to those who wait, and hungry enough to go after what I want. I am a proud independent.
A nurturer, a cook, a casualty, and a grandparent. My name is Lisa. I’m cautious enough to keep my distance, and too wise to let a chance at love pass me by. We seem unmatched—in race, in history, in lifestyle—but when tragedy leaves a baby in our care and a target on our backs, we discover the strength of family.
Unified.

The Book Junkie Reads . . . Review of . . . EDGE OF TOMORROW (Arrow's Edge MC, #3) . . . Meeting the club of men that take on brotherhood and family in their own way. A group of people that give home and sense of belonging to those that have lost hope. A group of people that open the door to more love, community, pride, respect, and more. I loved returning back to this group of people that show because of age you have had a life worth living and one that was lived with wisdom to pass on. Brick and Lisa were no exception. Both had lived a life that brought them to the same place and almost identical situation that left them both with being the parent to their grandchildren.
Brick showed his patience for Lisa for two years. He watched over her and her grandbabies showing his concern and protective streak. He finally gets a chance to have more but at what cost to himself. Past and present begins to blend with events coming over this fall season.
Freya Barker did what I love best about her writing. She gives a couple with season and life. They are not new to the world and its cruelties. She finds a way to incorporate their respective lives lived, the children, and the community they are a part of and makes it feel like you are there every step of the way.
Grown up adults that still have some life to live and love to give.
