Chapter 22
Revelation!
Diamond rose and made her way to the exit at Buffalo Stomp Wings and Flings, she took the side exit off the back room and headed to the corner of Maple Street.  She was about to hail a cab when she decided to walk the few blocks back to her apartment.
The streets were well lit, and she knew this area was safe when she made the decision to take the short cut across the park on Maple Street. This way was right by the hockey field and looped around the ice rink.
A crowd of people were skating at the ice rink.  She paused and watched an elderly couple skating arm in arm. It made her think of Max. “Max, who had cheated on her. Some things don’t ever change,” she thought. Now more than ever she was determined to get back at him. If he could cheat so could she and she knew just the person to handle the job.
At first, she thought her eyes were deceiving her and then she shook her head and there he was standing in the middle of a crowd of people.
Diamond hurried over and spread her arms wide for a hug when she reached him. “Oh Allen, it’s so good to see you.”
He offered her a cool handshake. “Diamond, my love, long time no see.”
Diamond took a step back, chilled by his icy reception. This was the Allen she knew. He was higher than a kite. The girl standing next to him was too. It was Ronda… Rhonda Brown.
“Diamond, you remember our old friend Rhonda,” Allen said, his speech slurred.
Disappointment flooded her as she stared between the two of them. She couldn’t believe she wanted to have revenge sex with this man. “Nice to meet you again, Rhonda,” she said with a difficult smile. “It seems I’m running late for an appointment,” she lied and turned and walked away.
Ten minutes later, Diamond quickly opened her apartment door and rush in closing it abruptly behind her breathing hard. She walked into the kitchen opened a cabinet and went straight to the refrigerator and poured herself a glass of milk to calm her nerves.
Suddenly, the loud ringing of her  telephone pierced the air, as she walked over and answered it. “Hello?”
