BLURB

Princess Ellyria Rose found her special places in the books she read. Imagining herself in far off lands, she would dream of the knight who might rescue her one day from her dull, everyday life of needlepoint and lessons on becoming a lady.

Princess Ellyria Rose yearned for adventure and on her sixteenth birthday she got her wish, being rescued by the man of her dreams. Little did she know that would prove to be an adventure she did not expect to have.

Betrayed by the very man whom Princess Ellyria trusted, and left at the mercy of her father’s enemy, she had to use her wits to escape; along with the help of the very man who led her astray in the beginning.

Danger unfolds time and again, revealing an ancient story about a princess and a prophecy.

Ten things that make a fantasy a fantasy…

  1. I really find that magick practiced in the world openly is something that would be a normal everyday occurrence in a fantasy.
  2. I definitely feel that you can’t have a good fantasy without mystical creatures, be it dragons, unicorns, or any other mythical beasts.
  3. In a fantasy world it is not uncommon to discover an enchanted forest, or a special hidden place where perhaps they may ‘come to life’ in their own unique way.
  4. You honestly can’t have a fantasy without magical beings, such as witches, wizards, or any other human, or elves that have magical powers.
  5. In many fantasy novels there is at least a handful with a unique world where another language is used, with unique people or civilization in it.
  6. I know this is a cliché, but you can’t find most fantasies without a prince, or a princess in them. It is almost a must have in any fantasy story. Hello, ‘once upon a time’ over here please.
  7. Where there are princes there must be the obligatory sword fighting. How else will the hero defeat the villain?
  8. When you have a fantasy of any kind, inanimate objects can come to life. It definitely puts the ‘fun’ in fundamental things ever written into a fantasy.
  9. Another cliché that is written into fantasy is animals, plants, or insects that are able to speak or interact like humans. It is one of my most favorite things ever.
  10. I think the pinnacle point in this ten things that make a fantasy a fantasy is the “good v/s evil” storyline. It is the epitome of fantasy. No matter what is going on in a story there is most always the hero vs the villain, and no matter whether either one of them is a human, an animal, or a magical being or creature of any kind. One is always the good guy, and the other a bad guy. In any case in the end,  the hero always wins. If that isn’t fantasy then I don’t know what is.
