“I love the Angelbound Origins world and just can’t seem to get enough of it!” – The Avid Reader
The Book Junkie Reads . . . Review of . . . THE BRUTAL TIME (Angelbound Origins, #6) . . . The best part of this was that we got to see Myla and Lincoln again, in action and not in action. We see Myla work to be a part of something not so solo, aside from Lincoln. He doesn't count because he means the world to her.
Myla finds that she can't keep working the way she do when the Heavenly host are dying at such a rapid rate. She needs help. She need reinforcements. She needs to step back in time. How will she gather those needed to do the job she does when she does not quite play well with others? This and so much more was answered in the action packed time traveling adventure that Myla and Lincoln find themselves taking to make sure that Myla is the kick-azz, Purgatory soul mover, the Great Scala.
There was no doubt walking in that this was going to be a page turner. I have loved everyone of the books in this captivating series. There's so much to fall in love with the characters, the scenes, the world building, the descriptions that give you such a vivid picture you can't help but to play them over and over in you mind.
The Brutal Time takes you on a fab adventure and gives you another side of Myla. We find out new things about her we did not see or may have guessed about her.
I spent a lot of time talking here about Myla. Well, sorry-not-sorry. Lincoln plays a role here also and you will see him and his thoughts but this will always for me be Myla's show.
Loved. Loved. Loved.
As the Great Scala, Myla Lewis is the only being who can move Purgatory’s souls to Heaven or Hell. It’s a big job. Too bad Myla goes through assistants faster than a hot knife through brownies. Not that it bothers her much; Myla’s always been a solo fighter.
Then comes the problem of the fading angels. Millions of Heavenly residents are dying. According to a prophecy, the only way Myla can save them is by traveling back in time, meeting King Arthur, and creating her own knights of the round table. The catch? Doing so might end the after-realms in a bloody demonpocalypse.
Myla and her main squeeze, Lincoln, aren’t afraid of taking a few chances (in between kisses). But with so much at risk, the stakes may be too high, even for them. And the biggest challenge of all? Finding those knights.
Because Myla Lewis doesn’t play well with others. At all.
“These books don’t just capture your attention, they straight up demand it. Christina Bauer has created a fascinating and unique world that you do not want to miss out on.” – Bookhalolic Brittany
Christina Bauer thinks that fantasy books are like bacon: they just make life better. All of which is why she writes romance novels that feature demons, dragons, wizards, witches, elves, elementals, and a bunch of random stuff that she brainstorms while riding the Boston T. Oh, and she includes lots of humor and kick-ass chicks, too.
Christina graduated from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School with BA’s in English along with Television, Radio, and Film Production. She lives in Newton, MA with her husband, son, and semi-insane golden retriever, Ruby.
