The Book Junkie Reads . . . Review of . . . BRAZEN AND THE BEAST (The Bareknuckle Bastards, #2) . . . I've had the pleasure of getting lost in Sarah MacLean books on several occasions over the years. I find that I get fully immersed in a world that takes me back to simpler times but also times where woman weren't much more than property or the fortune they brough in to the marriage or family.
The premise of the year of Hattie was special and spectacular. Henrietta Sedley was going to do this year her way and be herself. She was not going to let anything or anyone take away her chance to live life to the fullest. That was the plan until she encounted one beast of a man.
Whit/Beast/King of Covent Garden was the obsacle standing in the way of the year of Hattie. That is unless the two of them can come to some sort of agreement.
I found the best parts of this histocial romance was the commardery between Whit and Hattie. They were perfect together and apart. They were individuals, but their strenght with each other was even more.
I love sitting back and devouring a Sarah MacLean romance. I love them even more when there are backgrounds and connection to other series she had created.
