The Book Junkie Reads . . . Review of . . . THE MEDALLION . . . This was heartrendingly emotional. The courage of a mother, the sacrifices she made to make sure that her child survived was so real. The details of it all the determination of them all. Each had something that needed to be done and was determined to make sure that it was. You have to read this one for yourself to understands the intricacies of the time, the decision, the resolution.
There were sections you needed to have a box of tissues. There were times when I had to take a break. The sadness. The pain. The period in time was no joyous milestone, but it was one that had to be told. The lengths that one couple goes to to save the life of there child was something most only could read about. This couple lived it.
The history portrayed. The lives lived. The belief felt, shared, and carried allowed these two groups of people to believe and move onward in their lives. The was an emotional read that was worth each page turned and all the time spent.

Cathy Gohlke is the three-time Christy Award-winning author of the critically acclaimed novels The Medallion, Until We Find Home, Secrets She Kept (winner of the 2016 Carol and INSPY Awards), Saving Amelie (winner of the 2015 INSPY Award), Band of Sisters, Promise Me This (listed by Library Journal as one of the best books of 2012), William Henry Is a Fine Name, and I Have Seen Him in the Watchfires (listed by Library Journal as one of the best books of 2008), which also won the American Christian Fiction Writers' Book of the Year Award.
