My very existence at a young age centered on the fact that a tomboy chooses to take life by the horns and control it. I always felt that in controlling life there wouldn’t be a reason to depend on the opposite sex. From my point of view, the male species was only here for me to bend at my whim. Some males try to control relationships so that a woman does everything that she is told to do by her man, which is what my mom did in her relationship with my father.
However, after spending many years of growing up in St. Louis I must admit that my attitude changed. Once Lo entered my life, I viewed male-female relationships differently. During the early years of our friendship, Lo and I grew closer. We experienced many "first-times" together.
Our first kiss while walking down by the Arch was on a spring day. Our first date was to an IMAX theater to see the latest action movie; and yes, it was the first time we made teenage love. Back then I didn’t realize that waiting until after marriage for sex was the best option. I now know that emotional strings can come with having sex or the roller coaster twists and turns that can happen. I now realize these facts.

Key to my writing technique is being open to where my characters lead me when I create my ideal writing environment. I love to build in humor that actually makes you laugh out loud along with a little bit of drama spice. The funnier and dramatic I can make my characters, the better for my books.
