The Book Junkie Reads . . . Review of . . . TWICE TURNED (The Wolves of Hemlock Hollow, #2) . . . I went in to this read without a care or a second thought to any possibility of a book preceeding it. I kept reading not feeling as if I was missing a thing. I go to the end and wanted to know more so of course now I need to read the first book of this series.   THERE WILL BE MORE ON THIS REVIEW COMING . . .

SYNOPSIS

Four years ago, Ayra’s best friend and childhood crush left her to fend for herself in the crappiest family ever. Her dad is forcing her to marry to make alliances, her brother has gone off the deep end in a big way, and to top it all off, her reaper powers have been awakened, something she hoped would never happen. Who the hell wants to put down other werewolves for a living?

And now, just as she’s starting to figure out her place in the world, Vidar’s back from Iceland, looking hotter than ever and still managing to ring all her bells with just a look. All Ayra wants to do is lose herself in him, in the past, but it’s never going to happen. He’s only back and paying attention to her because she’s the reaper. And there’s a little snag in the form of a vow of celibacy he took.

The sparks are undeniable, and Vidar swears he’s the only one who can help her on her journey. But he already left her once…

EXCERPT

“Ayra?” came a deep, familiar, masculine voice that vibrated along my bones. The last time I had heard it, it hadn’t sounded quite this…mature.
That voice had occupied my dreams for the last four years, bringing me comfort when nothing else could. But they had been only dreams. When he left, I had been a girl with a crush, and now, my entire world was different. He stepped into the doorway and my heart began to pound hard enough to remind me that not everything had changed.
“Vidar?” I asked, afraid to believe it. That kind of hope was dangerous.

The yellow light of the bare bulb made the ebony skin of his hard, bare chest almost look golden. Swirls of black knot work tattoos peeked out from beneath the straining arms of his vintage comic book Thor T-shirt. Both the irony of that and the fact that he clearly still loved comic book heroes almost made me smile.
