This collection of family and friends and soon to be friends and family has held me captive from the very first book. There depth of characters. The richness of bonds of the family and friendships that connect them all in to one large clan spanning the highlands of Scotland. I have fallen head of over heels in love with the Buchanan family for the last few years. With each new installment I get another piece to the puzzle that makes up this people. I watched the fall in love through danger, kidnappings, war, distance, poisoning, attempted murder, and more such plots. This time around Aulay has to win the love of the woman that he did not come looking for, but regardless of that. He will protect her. Jetta has much to figure out. All that includes her true name, identity, and why someone wants her dead. This was all that I have come to expect from the highland series that I love so much. I may be bias but I loved this one just as much as the ones before it. Now there are six of them, it may be time for me to have weekend marathon of the Highlander Series.
