I was not sure this could get any more intense but this time around things take a turn. Diego is stuck somewhere in time and without his Isabel. With all this he has to learn to live the life he was currently in. This was deep and challenging. Diego was lost and confused with out Isable and it was hard to see him feel so lost. I did like Dr. Lani but she was not who I came accustom to. I found this to be an unexpected twist in things. The time imbalance was nerve wracking but fullfilling. This was a series adventure through time and the difference in the worlds. I am very excited to get to the next one.

If someone took everything you live for, how far would you go to get it back?

When a faulty time machine deposits Diego at the top of a pine tree, he knows he's in the wrong place - but has no idea he's in the wrong time. Naked and shivering in the chilly mountain air, he attempts to climb down, but slips, whacks his head, and falls into oblivion.

He wakes up inside a darkened room, crippled and disheartened, and must come to grips with the realization that he is marooned in a bleak alternate future. In this universe, what remains of the human race is trapped inside a handful of aging biodomes. With his mission failed, his world destroyed, and the one woman he loves dead, he can find no reason to go on living.

But Lani, the emotionally scarred doctor who finds him, refuses to let him give up, and as Diego heals, their relationship becomes complicated. He struggles to let go of the past, but is unable to get Isabel out of his head or his heart. Just when it seems he may be able to find some measure of happiness in a world teetering on the edge of extinction. . .

Another note arrives from the future: Isabel is alive - but not for long.

TOUR Audio - Crossing in Time (Between Two Evils, #1) by D.L. Orton Narrators: Noah Michael Levine and Erin deWard

Crossing in Time
Between Two Evils, #1
by D.L. Orton
Narrators: Noah Michael Levine and Erin deWard
Length: 10 hours 17 minutes
Release date: October 7th 2015
Publisher: Rocky Mountain Press⎮2015
Genre: Science Fiction, Romance

A sci-fi romance that gave me a bit more than I was expecting but allowed me to feel the journey of time travel back to the past to make a correction that could make significant changes to the present/future for the better.  Their love may save the future of all mankind. There may have been more to the two of them than anyone else could have guessed. The ups and downs took the senses on an emotional roller-coaster that involved danger, suspense, some mystery, and find love, loss, and redemption. You may cry, laugh, scream and/or shout while listening. Isabel and Diego have a way of together stealing your heart and taking you mind on their ride. What would you risk to make the world a better place in the future?

Passion/pain, past/present, love/loss, ups/downs watching this one unfold gives you a sense that you have a complete story from beginning to end. You get so much from this one that you will feel the need to move forward. This was a full well rounded listen. The cast of characters both main and secondary give you some place to take hold and enjoy it all. Well written and well executed.

The narration here was excellent. The duo Noah and Erin makes the intricate depths of this sci-fi romance come to life. Things take on a new experience with this audio version that gives you more to see with your mind. Your senses take a journey of there own while listening.

I received these audiobooks as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by D.L. Orton. The gifting of these audiobooks did not affect my opinion of them.

If someone took everything you live for, how far would you go to get it back?

When offered a one-way trip to the past, Isabel sacrifices everything for a chance to change the rapidly deteriorating present - and see her murdered lover one last time. When she arrives 20 years in the past, buck naked and mortally wounded, she has 24 hours to convince a stunned but enraptured 19-year-old to change their future.

Definitely easier said than done, as success means losing him to a brainy, smart-mouthed bombshell (her younger self), and that's a heart breaker, save the world or not. This offbeat tale is about falling madly in love when one is too cynical for such things, letting go of pessimism when it's the last life jacket on a sinking ship, and racing against the clock when one doesn't have the proper footwear. It's a coming-of-age story for old fogeys, a how-to-make-love guide for diehard celibates, and a laugh-out-loud tragedy with a hopeful twist.
